DOMASZKÓW – TARCHALICE – RECOVERY OF NATURAL WATER RETENTION OF THE ODER RIVER VALLEY FOR FLOOD PROTECTION, WOŁÓW MUNICIPALITY, WOŁÓW DISTRICT, LOWER SILESIAN VOIVODESHIP
In Wołów (Lower Silesian voivodeship) the project consisting in recovery of natural water retention of the Oder river valley is being implemented. ETP S.A. carries out the project on behalf of the Lower Silesian Board of Land Amelioration and Water Facilities in Wrocław.
This project is critical for the Natura 2000 "Łęgi Odrzańskie" area and to improve the safety of residents of Domaszków and Tarchalice.
Scope of works that ETP will perform for ZMiUW Wrocław will cover the construction of the the new flood embankment 6.4 km long, eleven embankment crossings, drainage culverts and embankment culverts – sluices and construction of 3.716 km of maintenance roads. The value of the works is 15 million PLN
The aim of the project implemented by the ETP S.A. is to protect valuable natural habitats, restoration of natural floodplains and the maintenance of the ecosystem of many valuable species.
These flood protection measures will cover an area of more than 1,500 hectares, and about 427 people.
